Last fall, St. Paul Youth Services hosted a candidate forum for Saint Paul Public School board candidates where students asked the questions. Read about it in the Star Tribune.

Dozens of middle and high school students attended. The students grilled candidates on curriculum, classroom materials, lack of electives, lunch quality, transit, being stereotyped, and more. It was clear that students are excited about learning but don't always feel valued or heard at school.

All of the candidates participated and were impressed by the student participants and moderators. Hopefully, those elected will continue to tap students as experts in improving education.
