| Families end up in crisis
for a variety of reasons – mental health issues, substance
abuse, family fights and arguments, poor parenting skills, and
changes in family structure. Unless the situation is addressed
immediately, these crises can lead to serious consequences such
as violence, abuse, or runaway episodes. With no other place
to turn, many parents call the police or turn to the emergency
room.
Children’s Crisis Response supports families when and
where they need it the most. Our counselors are available
to come to a home immediately 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We help families calm down so that they can talk about their
concerns and develop a plan to resolve the situation. Our
staff are trained to assess what led to the crisis and offer
solutions to avoid them in the future. We also provide follow-up
assistance to families to ensure that things are getting better.
Through our efforts, families that feel frustrated, defeated,
and alone find the strength and resolve to continue functioning
as a family.
