Sometimes young people
make poor choices and get involved with shoplifting, underage
drinking, vandalism or other activities that bring them to
the attention of law enforcement. If not addressed, these
choices can lead to further criminal activity. As an alternative
to Juvenile Court, our Diversion Program provides counseling,
education and community service to hold youth accountable
and get back on track. We help them understand how their choices
affect themselves, their families and their community. We
also provide them with tools to make better decisions in the
future.
Court Diversion Program Outcomes: |
- Every year, our Court Diversion Program works with
over 400 first-time juvenile offenders. Six months
later, over 90% have not been arrested a second time.
